Not good enough ?

We had been to a canal gala and drove here for a late Sunday lunch. We were met by a lady who said we could sit at any table that hadn`t got a reserved notice (we are not stupid) and she would follow us through with menus. We found a nice table for two and waited and waited for the lady to appear. We were completely ignored and yet people arriving after us were shown the specials board and given menus. We eventually left without either food or drink.

Poor service

So disappointing to have the front of house manager speak to my mum in such a manner. Not sure if the guy is under pressure but really, there is a way to speak to people, whether frustrated or not! Forcing their customers what to order and how much food they can order is beyond disgraceful behaviour!

Totally unacceptable

Called in for a drink 5pm. A group of I think regulars at the bar,one in particular tall,short grey hair and tattoos on both forearms never stopped fffing and blinding to the disgust of us and an elderly couple. Male member of staff behind the bar must have heard him and did nothing to tell him from using that language It's obvious they are regulars and think they can do want they want. Who wants to visit a pub and listen to the lowlife talk,I don't for sure.It needs addressing.

Dont bother

Food is okish. I had the steak and asked for medium but it came out rare. The grey haired older woman that runs it is so rude and obnoxious. Love, you live in a little pub that no one cares about. If you were so important you would have retired 20 year ago but instead your on your feet everyday. You’re deluded !

Sunday lunch oh no!

We have dined at this pub before but a few weeks ago had an awful meal. the pie was dreadful with what was the meat?! and the pastry was inedible .The vegetables were soggy & overcooked.the staff were nice. The price we paid for what we had was expensive! We wont be diniing here again.

Awful experience

From 2hour waits for food to rude waiting in staff it became laughable, one evening I saw two people come back into the hotel and sit down and eat a Mac Donald’s and KFC both on different tables in a 4star rated hotel. I Suspect either the staff are terrified of the chef or the staff don’t communicate with the chef. After all is said and done despite the lovely decor I would avoid this place if you are looking for a 4star stay it’s more like faulty towers than a four star hotel and such a shame

A wonderful experience

My husband and I have just had a wonderful meal at this gastro pub. We chose the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding with vegetables. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream whilst my husband had rum & rain ice cream with a rum to pour over the top. Everything was freshly made (no frozen stuff) It was the best meal we have ever had in ages. We highly recommend paying the pub a visit but book a table first. Very friendly welcoming staff.

Well below par.

Disappointing. My favourite place to go in Blackburn and today was not very nicè the chicken Kiev was dry and the garlic tasted bitter there was th salt already on the chips then the gammon was placed on the chips witch is char grilled so the gammon went really salty and the chips went black . Plus was quite cold. by the time I got table checked it was too late and seemed pointless complaining .
